Focusing on the need for greater investment in and stronger legislative support for the Philippine science, technology, and innovation (ST&I) ecosystem, Academician Fortunato T. de la Peña introduced PAGTANAW 2050 as a critical strategic reference for future-ready and resilient ST&I policymaking in support of national development during his presentation on June 19, 2026, at the Wynwood Hotel, Pasig City.
The discussion formed part of the Development Academy of the Philippines’ (DAP) Course on Strategic Foresight in Public Policy, where PAGTANAW 2050 was presented as a case study on the application of foresight in addressing sector-specific challenges and opportunities.
The event was attended by senior executives and technical staff from the Philippine Congress participating in DAP’s Capability-Building on Innovative Leadership for Legislative Staff (CBILLS) Program, which aims to strengthen the capacity of policymakers to craft forward-looking and adaptive legislation.
Ultimately, Acd. de la Peña encouraged participants to champion and enact pending measures that address the country’s critical challenges, as identified in PAGTANAW 2050.
