The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) conducted the “PAGTANAW 2050 Training Series: Training of Trainers (North Luzon Leg)” on September 14-18, 2026, at the DBP Training Center in Baguio City.
Academician Fortunato T. de la Peña, Academician in charge of updating the PAGTANAW 2050 document, served as a resource speaker on the second day of the activity. The session brought together representatives from DOST Regional Offices I, II, III, and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
During the discussion, Academician de la Peña traced the historical foundations and pillars of the national ST&I ecosystem. He highlighted key operational areas of PAGTANAW 2050, including Food Security and Nutrition, Health, Energy, and Information and Communications Technology (ICT), while emphasizing the importance of integrating unique regional profiles in updating the framework.
The initiative aimed to strengthen regional capacity in strategic foresight and climate transition, empowering DOST personnel to translate national priorities into localized, sustainable action.
